The old Flower Pot, Chapel Street by Andrew Knighton

A facebook post on the IDLHS group page has generated an amazing 76,000 post reach, meaning it has appeared on 76,000 people’s facebook feeds. This is a new record, beating a photograph of the New Oakwell Garage (with a Ford Cortina outside) from the 1980’s which made 63,000 last year – mostly due to being shared to classic car sites. The Flower Pot post has also generated a large number of comments from local people, remembering the old pub with affection. The pub itself was demolished in the 1990s, and the late Andrew Knighton’s photo was taken just before this happened.
