Welcome to the Ilkeston and District Local History Society website
The Ilkeston and District Local History Society was established in
1966 to foster the study of local history and research into all aspects of
the history of Ilkeston and the district and to disseminate this information
for the benefit of the public. If this is your first visit, then welcome to
the IDLHS website and please find time to browse through the numerous pages
it contains.
You may be involved in your own research. if so please let us know if
we can help, or for that matter, is there anything you could do for the

The Society of course, holds indoor and outdoor events throughout the year,
to which all are welcome, a full programme of which can be found on the
Events page, plus a regular informal get together at the U-Choose Smoothie
Bar on South Street, Ilkeston, every last Saturday of each month.
